Main Street LogoMain Street is a division of The National Trust for Historic Preservation, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving historic places and revitalizing America's dwindling communities. Haines City Main Street’s goal is to provide and promote a sense of community pride with an opportunity for everyone to share and participate in the revitalization of our Historic Downtown!

HAINES CITY MAIN STREET VISION AND MISSION STATEMENT
Haines City Main Street’s vision is to be the cultural, retail, and educational center of Haines City’s historic district, offering its unique blend of population diversity, business mix, and the arts in a quaint, safe and accessible setting to residents and visitors of all ages.

Haines City Main Street works on a four-point approach and is a community Based organization!

HAINES CITY MAIN STREET FOUR POINT approach:

DESIGN
Involves the downtown’s image by enhancing its physical appearance and all other elements that convey a visual message about Haines City’s downtown and what it has to offer

ORGANIZATION
Means building cooperation and consensus among all the groups that play a role in downtown

PROMOTION
Involves selling the downtown’s unique characteristics (IMAGE!) to shoppers, Investors, new businesses, tourists, and others who frequent downtown

ECONOMIC RESTRUCTURING
Means strengthening the existing economic base of downtown while diversifying and preserving its unique community assets

Retailers have a vested interest in the success of a revitalization program. An improved commercial district offers great opportunity for business growth and expansion, a broader customer base, and less financial risk for store owners. Merchants tend to be most interested in promotional activities. Convincing retailers to participate in cleaning up the area is sometime difficult but well worth the effort!

What is needed to have a successful Main Street program?

  • Widespread Community Support.
  • Downtown merchant support and cooperation.
  • A clear, shared sense of the mission and vision of Main Street.
  • Working Committees.
  • Committed, dependable funding.
  • A commitment to work and succeed over time.

For more information on our program, please contact Bruce Prince, Chairman, Main Street Board of Directors at (863) 287-4677.
